Miley Cyrus released the first single off of her fourth studio album on Monday. Called "We Can't Stop," the track made its debut on Ryan Seacrest's radio show.
The mid-tempo track has Cyrus celebrating a night out with lyrics like "It's our party we can do what we want to," after a chorus of Cyrus singing "We can't stop." "We Can't Stop" was produced by Mike Will Made It, an artist best known for the strip club anthems he crafted for Juicy J ("Bandz A Make Her Dance") and Rihanna ("Pour It Up").
Cyrus has been hyping the track for weeks, starting a countdown to the song's premiere on her Twitter page.
Expected to hit stores later this year, Cyrus' next album will reportedly show a new side to the singer. The Disney alum made her name on pop hits such as "Party in the USA" but has been making a point of announcing how different her latest work is. The 20-year-old singer worked with hip-hop producers such as Hit-Boy and Pharrell Williams on the project, with recent images suggesting that pop idol Justin Bieber may be involved as well.
"I feel like I can really be myself," Cyrus said of her fourth album, Billboard reports. "I really have more of a connection of who I am, and I feel like I can maybe express that more in my music now."
Cyrus released her last album, "Can't Be Tamed," in 2010. The album hit No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and received mixed reviews from critics.
Last week the music video for Cyrus' recent collaboration with rapper Snoop Lion premiered. "Ashtrays and Heartbreaks" is the latest single off of Snoop's "Reincarnated" album.
