'The Voice' Top 6: Michelle Chamuel Takes On Taylor Swift, And Gets To Meet Her (VIDEO)

'The Voice': Michelle Chamuel Performs - And Meets - Taylor Swift

Michelle Chamuel is succeeding because she forges her own path on "The Voice." The unique performer got the chance to choose her own song this week and wanted to perform Taylor Swift's "I Knew You Were Trouble." During rehearsals, her coach, Usher, had a big surprise for her.

While she was working through the song, Taylor Swift herself showed up. "Do I really have to keep singing right now? This is crazy!” said Michelle.

And Taylor really enjoyed Michelle's take on her song, telling her, "All the [vocal] runs you picked ... are just amazing. The way you doubled over with your hair and everything, just don’t stop doing that.”

And Michelle didn't stop, bringing a real rock edge to the country anthem. Hollywood Life said it was the best Michelle has ever been on the show, surmising that Taylor's "seriously adorable" appearance was a great motivator.

Buddy TV was on board with Michelle too, going so far as to say she could win the show. "The performance accomplishes its goal of showing how this quirky indie chick can be Top 40," they wrote. "She has come further than anyone else on this show.”

Find out who goes home this week as "The Voice" continues on Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
