CMT Awards 2013 Red Carpet: Country Music Stars Break Out The Sequins, Boots (PHOTOS)

Missing the Oscars and already longing for the Emmys this fall? Never fear, the CMT Music Awards are here. Country music stars filled the awards show void on Wednesday night, walking the red carpet in all their brightly-colored glory.

Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift were, as always, the main attraction wearing Edition by Georges Chakra and Elie Saab, respectively. (Swift's look, we feel obligated to note, was a side-mullet dress. She also wore a mullet dress to perform later during the show. Have the asymmetrical frocks replaced sparkly gowns as Swift's go-to look?)

As is to be expected at country music events, there was also a healthy dose of sequins (we're looking at you, Kellie Pickler) and few pairs of cowboy boots. Then, of course, there was Nicole Kidman, who's been a country music scene staple since marrying Keith Urban yet always seems to be out-of-place on these red carpets. What's with the plain black dress, Nicole?
