Miley Cyrus Says She's A Party Animal & The Hardest Working Person You'll Ever Know (VIDEO)

Miley Cyrus: 'I Am A Self-Proclaimed Party Animal'

Miley Cyrus has said goodbye to her Disney days and claims she doesn't care what you think about it.

In a new interview with MTV News, the 20-year-old pop star says that no one really knows the real her.

"People more think of me as a party animal. Which I am a self-proclaimed party animal, but I'm also the hardest working person you'll ever know," she explains.

Cyrus is all about the party animal image these days, especially with her new song "We Can't Stop," which references doing lines of cocaine in bathrooms and shaking it like she's at the strip club. It's about as far from family-friendly as one can get, but Cyrus says this is who she's been all along.

"Moms remember watching their daughters watching the show [Hannah Montana] and kids remember watching the show, but that's not who they think I am," she told MTV, adding, "People have a misunderstanding I think, actually people don't know though because I do so much on my own like putting out my twerk video even."

Cyrus is used to creating controversy and has since adopted the mantra of "I don't care what people think," which we all know is only ever said by people who really, really care what people think.

"The biggest thing people say to me is that ‘I love that you don't care what people think' because I don't, but in the best way possible," she explained. "Of course I want people to love my music, but at the end of the day I make music for me. I make music because I love it and I know that I put good energy into it, so it'll be all good."

After years of being criticized for everything from posing in Vanity Fair in a suggestive manner at 15, to being caught smoking what she claimed was salvia out of a bong, it seems like Cyrus is ready to let her "real" self shine, and no one can tell her she can't -- especially since she isn't tied to that Disney contract anymore.
