Russell Brand: I Never Cheated On Katy Perry

Russell Brand is back to his chatty ways.

Though the comedian surprised us recently by keeping mum about his marriage to Katy Perry in an interview with Red Eye Chicago earlier this month, he dished on his ill-fated nuptials in the June issue of Esquire UK, which hits newsstands in the UK on Thursday.

"I tried it and I loved it. I really think she’s a lovely beautiful person," he said. "It’s just hard isn’t it? She’s got a lot of options, I’ve got a lot of options, so you’ve got to really, really want it.”

MTV reports that Brand also assured the magazine that he was completely monogamous during his time with Perry.

"When I'm in a relationship I'm diligently monogamous and stick to the principles agreed on within that relationship. You've got to, I think," Brand reportedly said.

The comedian filed for divorce in June 2011 after 14 months of marriage. They tied the knot in India in October 2010.
