Dine N Dash With José Andrés And Friends To Benefit World Central Kitchen

When José Andrés opened Jaleo in Penn Quarter 20 years ago, he changed the neighborhood's dining scene forever.

On June 25, D.C. diners can experience three of Andrés' restaurants, including Jaleo, plus three others, during the inaugural Dine N Dash, an eating tour of Penn Quarter.

Tickets for the restaurant crawl start at $150 ($350 for a VIP reception with Andrés at barmini) and all proceeds benefit World Central Kitchen, an organization dedicated to "changing lives, feeding hope":

World renowned chef, José Andrés, brings his passion for the “power of food” to World Central Kitchen, an action-based non-profit organization investing in smart solutions to hunger and poverty.

World Central Kitchen is hard at work “empowering the people” to be part of the solution – with focus on building “smart kitchens”, training on clean cookstoves, creating jobs, and strengthening local business.

Our current work in Haiti has helped us form partnerships that now lead us to projects in Central America, South America and Africa.

The June 25 events starts at 6 p.m.; diners get wristbands and can walk between the six participating restaurants -- Azur, Jaleo, Oyamel, Poste, Proof and Zaytinya -- to sample food at each stop. Look at it this way: The walk helps you burn calories so you can eat more grasshopper tacos, ouzo and paella.
