'Jimmy Kimmel Live' Asks L.A. Sports Fans How Lakers Will Do In NBA Finals (VIDEO)

WATCH: L.A. Fans Like Lakers' Chances In NBA Finals

As many basketball followers know, the Los Angeles Lakers limped out of the NBA Playoffs in the first round. But that salient fact didn't deter self-proclaimed fans in L.A. from assessing the team's title chances.

Jimmy Kimmel Live's "Lie Witness News" on Thursday caught some people on the street looking awfully silly when they were asked how they thought the Lakers would do in the NBA Finals. One guy was even from Miami (which is playing the San Antonio Spurs in the actual NBA Finals) and said he would go see the Heat play if the series brought the team to L.A. And don't get us started about the dude who liked the Lakers' odds of winning hockey's Stanley Cup.

In 2010, Sports Illustrated polled NFL players on which city has the most knowledgeable football fans. Green Bay, home of the Packers, won.

We have the sneaking suspicion that if the respondents above had anything to do with an NBA survey, L.A. would be -- as its Lakers were in the postseason -- easily dismissed.
