Rapper Robbed At Gunpoint

UPDATE 2: 5:33 p.m. -- A new report from Radio.com confirms that San Francisco Police have identified 2 Chainz as the subject of an armed robbery, despite earlier conflicting reports that it was, instead, a member of his entourage.

UPDATE: 3:56 p.m. -- CBS' Radio.com reported Monday afternoon that 2 Chainz was not the victim of an armed robbery, but a member of his entourage was.

An officer from the San Francisco Police Department said the rapper and his crew were walking in the city on Sunday afternoon when an armed suspect approached them and fired. The group scattered, but one person allegedly fell to the ground. The suspect then "robbed him of an unknown item and fled the scene," according to the report.

Rapper 2 Chainz was reportedly robbed this weekend in California.

TMZ reports 2 Chainz was robbed at gunpoint in San Francisco at about 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Surveillance video appears to show that the rapper, who had his wallet stolen, was the intended target, according to TMZ. His entourage reportedly "ran away from the incident like 'cockroaches running from a flashlight.'" Police are currently looking for a suspect.

Bay Area news network KTVU reported 2 Chainz was robbed while outside of a local marijuana dispensary.

Rumors surrounding the alleged incident flooded the Internet on Sunday. Some even claimed 2 Chainz had been shot multiple times. That gossip proved false when the rapper took to the Oracle Arena stage in Oakland that evening for the 106 KMEL Summer Jam concert apparently uninjured.

In February, the Georgia native was arrested for possession of marijuana and paraphernalia while in Maryland, Yahoo! Music reported. The arrest occurred after he was pulled over for speeding, and police reportedly smelled pot smoke.
