Couples Tattoos: Denver Women Get Joint Ink To Celebrate Their Fifth Wedding Anniversary (PHOTOS)

Tradition dictates that on the fifth wedding anniversary, couples should exchange wooden gifts. But one Denver couple decided to buck tradition, opting for something much more permanent instead -- joint tattoos.

On Monday, Redditor drocks27 posted photos of her and her wife's matching ink to the site. When you put the two forearm tattoos side-by-side, they create a heart. She wrote in the comments that the tattoo incorporates the Boston and Denver skylines and lyrics from the Ani DiFranco song "Both Hands." Check out the unique tattoos in the slideshow below:

"We met and married in Boston but live in Denver now," the Redditor wrote in the comments. "We wanted something that incorporated those important cities but a quote that meant something to us and was a full picture on it's own but made something when combined."

What do you think of their joint tattoo? Let us know in the comments!
