La Toya To Joe Jackson: Can I Call You 'Dad' Instead Of 'Joseph'? (VIDEO)

WATCH: La Toya To Joe Jackson: Can I Call You 'Dad'?

La Toya Jackson's relationship with her father Joe has always been about business. The Jackson family patriarch has been very involved in the music careers of his famous children, so La Toya has always approached her father in more of a professional than personal manner. In fact, she has called her dad "Joseph" for as long as she can remember.

Lately, however, La Toya says she has realized that this business-focused relationship isn't the type of relationship she wants with her father. In this clip from "Life With La Toya," the middle Jackson sister takes the first step toward establishing a more personal father-daughter connection with Joe during a camping trip.

While sitting alone by the campfire, La Toya opens up about her feelings. "I'm just happy we're able to spend this time together," La Toya says to her father.

"It means a lot to me knowing that you care so much," Joe says to La Toya.

"I do, Joseph. You have no idea," she responds, tearing up. "I wish that my heart could speak to your heart… I care about you so much. You have no clue."

"I don't like to see a woman cry," Joe says. "Dry those tears up."

That's when La Toya asks her father something important. "I know that all of our lives, we've always called you 'Joseph,'" she begins, "but I would love to call you 'Dad' from now on. Is that good with you?"

She waits for his response.

"You don't have to ask me that!" Joe says. "You can call me 'Dad' if you'd like."

Joe then opens up to La Toya, sharing some emotional words with his daughter in the video.

"Life With La Toya" airs Saturdays at 9:30 p.m. ET on OWN.
