Robin Roberts Marks Major Milestone

Tuesday was the one-year anniversary of Robin Roberts' announcement that she had been diagnosed with MDS.

Last year, Roberts told viewers that she had been diagnosed with MDS, a rare blood and bone marrow disorder, as a complication from her previous battle with breast cancer. "I'm going to beat this," she said on "Good Morning America" at the time.

Roberts' announcement last June prompted a flood of support from fans, including messages from Michelle Obama and Ann Romney.

The ABC News anchor returned to "GMA" in February after several months on medical leave. She received a bone marrow transplant from her sister in September, and spent time recovering from the procedure and strengthening her immune system under the care of her doctors.
