Being a part of the first breakout season of "Breaking Amish" came back to haunt Rebecca on the latest episode of the spin-off series "Breaking Amish: Brave New World." She was asking about getting a job at a restaurant when she was emphatically told, "No."
“You coming in here wanting to work -- I think a lot of our employees would be disgusted about it because we love the Amish," she was told by a waitress. "We have a lot of Amish people that come in here.”
Abe, who was with Rebecca, asked the waitress if she'd grown up Amish. When she said that she hadn't, Abe countered, with, "Then don’t tell me how the Amish live their life.”
The waitress said that she felt as if Rebecca and some of the others on the show had disrespected the Amish community with things they've said on "Breaking Amish." Fellow castmate Kate actually had to side with the waitress a bit on this one.
And this isn't the only group of young people viewers will get to follow while they're "Breaking Amish." A new season will follow a new cast that heads to Los Angeles. The first season's gang went to New York.
For now, follow along with the original cast on "Breaking Amish: Brave New World" every Sunday at 10 p.m. ET on TLC.
