Jennifer Lopez just struck movie gold.
The 43-year-old singer and actress may be receiving a milestone star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Thursday, but the good news for J. Lo doesn’t stop there. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Puerto Rican star has just signed on to appear in the Chilean miner drama “The 33.”
In June 2011, it was reported that producer Mike Medavoy had acquired the rights of the film based on the 2010 Chilean mining accident, in which 33 miners were trapped in the San José copper–gold mine in Copiapó, Chile.
At the time, the world was captivated with rescue efforts and stories of the miners who remained underground for 69 days. Now their story is set to hit the big screen with the help of Lopez, Martin Sheen, Rodrigo Santoro, and Antonio Banderas.
“One year after the collapse of the mine, we consider this to be a great step towards the realization of a film based on our experience in the mine,” Chilean miner Juan Andrés Illanes told The Hollywood Reporter when Medavoy acquired the rights to the film in 2011. “This is the only official and authorized film about what we lived in the San José mine. Much of our story has never been told.”
The film will be directed by Patricia Riggen (La Misma Luna) and the screenplay was written by Mikko Alanne and José Rivera (The Motorcyle Diaries). Production will reportedly begin in Chile this fall.
Mother Of Two
Despite her high-profile split from hubby Marc Anthony (and in spite of her tremendously busy career), Jennifer has continued to be a hands-on mom to her 4-year-old twins, Max & Emme. "Every day... they just bring so much joy and happiness to your life, [and] they just bring you right back down to earth,' Lopez recently told People Magazine. Talk about being a great role model for single mamis everywhere!
On July 13th, J.Lo lent her voice to the character Shira, a badass pirate, in the successful animated movie "Ice Age: Continental Drift!" Fellow boricua actor John Leguizamo--who plays a sloth in the movie--said J.Lo's character beats him up...big time! "We don't beat J.Lo," he told The Huffington Post. "We get beat by J.Lo. She's a badass pirate," he added.

Ambassador for Gillette Venus
One of Lopez's many jobs is to serve as the Global Ambassador for the Gilette-Venus Goddess Fund for Education. In addition to starring in commercials which show off her amazing legs, Lopez also helps Gillette raise funds, which will benefit the foundation, as well as her own Maribel Foundation.
Whether she's wearing a stunning dress to the Oscars, or dressing to the nines on every episode of FOX's "American Idol," J.Lo takes fashion very seriously.
La Lopez is currently embarking on her first world tour with fellow Latino singer Enrique Iglesias. The stars will hit up the U.S., South America, Europe, and Asia this summer for a 60-date tour. J.Lo will also be hitting up Latin American countries including, Venezuela, Chile, and Argentina.
"What To Expect When You're Expecting"
In May, La Lopez starred opposite Cameron Diaz in "What To Expect When You're Expecting," based on the bestselling pregnancy guide of the same name.
Nine years after she played a Lesbian character in the movie "Gigli," Jennifer Lopez is developing an hour-long show for ABC Family about a lesbian couple with kids. The new series centers on a lesbian couple with kids (one biological son and adopted teen twins--one a boy, the other a girl), whose household is turned upside down when a wayward teenage girl moves in. Deadline reports that in addition to serving as the show's executive producer, J.Lo is also planning to guest star in the series.
Representing Puerto Rico!
In the "American Idol" finale, Jennifer performed with boricua reggaeton duo Wisin & Yandel and the performance was so electrifying it sent hundreds of Latinos into a frenzy on Twitter--including Dominican bachatero Prince Royce!
Her Greatest Hits
As if she's not busy enough with her world tour, her movie career, her clothing line and her new perfume, La Lopez has decided that it's time to release a "Greatest Hits Album." According to MTV Tr3s, the new album is expected to come out this summer!

According to Latina.com, the new venture will allow users to vote on a selection of eclectic limited edition t-shirts designed by various artists. The highest-rated tees will be sent to production labs right away, and will be sold for a minimum of $20 per t-shirt.
Can't Be Beat
Given her many high-profile jobs, it's not surprising that Lopez topped Forbes' annual Celebrity 100 list , which was released in May. Lopez beat out Lady Gaga, who claimed the title in 2011, and Oprah! According to Forbes, Lopez brought in $52 million in earnings over the past year. Yowza!
