Unlocking The Truth, 6th-Grade Heavy Metal Band, Doesn't Give A F**k What Bullies Think (VIDEO)

WATCH: 6th-Grade Metal Band Doesn't Give A F**k What Bullies Think

Even if you've already seen sixth-grade metal band Unlocking The Truth rocking out in New York's Times Square or Apollo Theater, it's worth watching this beautiful new video, in which they open up about their private lives.

"Since I wear nail polish, which is not normal ... people bother me about it," says band member Malcolm Brickhouse, who hails from the Flatbush neighborhood of Brooklyn, N.Y. "At times it offends me, at times it doesn't. So I just write songs about it."

Jarad Dawkins, of Brooklyn's Bed-Stuy neighborhood, who has been playing with Brickhouse since the two were just 5 years old, says he's writing a book about people "who are being bullied in school." His characters find wealth and fame after forming a band, while those who judged them "have become homeless."

"It's based on a true story," Dawkins explains in the video.

Despite the teasing at school, these two are quickly gaining the fame (though perhaps not the cash) envisioned in Dawkins' book.

Brickhouse may have summed up the irony best in an interview with The Village Voice in September: "You can hate all you want, but at least you're talking about me."
