'Mad Men' Ending: Series Won't Close With Anybody Jumping Out The Window

All good things must come to an end, including "Mad Men." However, the "Mad Men" ending fans have been predicting to series creator Matthew Weiner won't ever happen, he told TheWrap.

Weiner said fans think the series should end with a suicide, somebody jumping out the window a la the show's opening credits. "People think it would be just an amazing rhyme to have that in the opening every week -- and then in the last episode have it happen," he said.

But it won't happen.

"It never even occurred to me. I'll be honest with you. Never occurred to me," Weiner said. "That jump out the window was always meant to be symbolic and internal. I never meant it literally. I think it's fascinating, though -- I think people think it would be cool. But it hasn't been an option. And now that we've had this conversation, I really can't do it."

Weiner previously said he knows the ending of "Mad Men." "I do know how the whole show ends," he told Jeff Garlin for "Jeff Garlin in Conversation With ..." "It came to me in the middle of last season. I always felt like it would be the experience of human life. And human life has a destination."

"Mad Men" ending will be sad, according to series star January Jones. “It will be very sad. We are all so close that we will keep in touch, but I don't think we will ever have this kind of experience again -- from the relationships we've made to the success we have had, to the cultural impact [of the show],” she said.

"Mad Men" will come to an end after Season 7. The show is currently in its sixth season on AMC. The Season 6 finale of "Mad Men" airs Sunday, June 23 at 10 p.m. ET.
