Who knew Cameron Diaz’ Bad Teacher would have such a long shelf life? Two years after its release, the black comedy is about to be converted into a TV show and it’s got a sequel in the works.

Though Cameron hasn’t “officially” joined Bad Teacher 2 yet, insiders are claiming it’s a done deal. Original director Jake Kasdan has already signed on and the flick has the full backing of Columbia Pictures.

Bad Teacher 1 turned out to be a huge hit for the studio. With a budget of just $20 million, it went on to gross over $215 million internationally (thanks in part to Cameron’s star power).

We’re definitely keeping our fingers crossed for Ms. Diaz’ return. And seeing how big those numbers were, let’s hope this Teacher gets a very hefty raise.
