Mariah Carey Album Delayed: 'The Art Of Letting Go' Pushed To 'Give It Justice'

Mariah Carey Delays Her Album's Release To 'Do It Justice'

Fans may not be hearing Mariah Carey's new album anytime soon. The songstress announced Monday evening that she is pushing back the release of her upcoming album "The Art of Letting Go."

Originally scheduled to hit stores on July 23, "The Art of Letting Go" has been delayed indefinitely. The album already has its lead single in the form of Carey's hit song with Miguel, "#Beautiful," but she has yet to name a new release date. The 43-year-old singer released her last studio album of new material, "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel," in 2009. The album hit No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and was certified Gold.

Carey took to Twitter to inform fans that "The Art of Letting Go" will not be released as planned, citing a need to do the album "justice."
