One in every four people in the United States can speak another language, according to Gallup. The most common language spoken, apart from English, is Spanish, with over 37 million speakers.
While there are many positives to being bilingual, from serious health benefits to an easier travel experience, there are those out there who insist on using certain phrases that will usually make a Spanish-speaker roll their eyes.
So while we encourage learning Spanish, and have argued that it’s not a foreign language we must also highlight some phrases that are better avoided when hanging out with Hispanic friends, or ever for that matter.
