Soledad O'Brien could be producing her next documentary for Al Jazeera America, TV Newser reported on Wednesday.

The website tweeted, "We're hearing @soledad_obrien is in advanced negotiations for production deal with Al Jazeera America." The New York Times' Brian Stelter tweeted an affirmation of the report, as well.

O'Brien stepped down as a regular host on CNN in March, after network president Jeff Zucker canceled her show "Starting Point." O'Brien's show was replaced by "New Day," which debuted last week. Since exiting her previous role, O'Brien has entered into a production relationship with CNN, creating documentaries and other programs for the network. The agreement allows her production company Starfish Media to produce shows for other outlets, as well.

O'Brien was the face of CNN's "In America" series, which will continue under the new agreement. She will also be a reporter for Bryan Gumbel's monthly sports magazine show "HBO Real Sports."

Meanwhile, Al Jazeera America is slated to launch this summer. Al Jazeera purchased Current TV earlier this year, and is in the process of planning its programming and hiring talent.
