WATCH: This Time-Lapse Freehand Illustration Will Make Your Jaw Drop

A time-lapse video capturing an artist's freehand sketch of the Republic of Korea's flag is leaving netizens awestruck this week.

Originally uploaded to YouTube in March, the video, which showcases Korean artist Kim Jung Gi's jaw-dropping drawing skills and meticulous attention to detail, has experienced a viral resurgence after being unearthed on video curation website Devour.com.

"Wow I got goosebumps," wrote one appreciative YouTuber Tuesday after watching the artist in action.

The clip has racked up more than a million and a half views in the last few months.

In a 2012 interview published on Kim's website, the artist explained how he can draw with such aplomb, even without a photographic reference.

"I observe things all the time. I don’t take references while I’m drawing, but I’m always collecting visual resources. I observe them carefully on daily basis, almost habitually. I study images of all sorts and genres," Kim said, adding that he's been passionate about art since he was a kid.
