From July 1 until July 3, 1863, the Battle of Gettysburg raged.

The famous battle became known as a turning point in the war that shifted momentum in favor of the Union Army.

While many Civil War "hobbyists" descended upon Gettysburg, Pa. Saturday and Sunday and more will gather this weekend, we decided to take a look back in time and check out some of the most iconic and telling images from the bloody battle.
