'Taboo USA': Woman Has 1,000 Cats Living In Her Home (VIDEO)

Lynea Lattanzio has one thousand cats. Now this might sound like one of those tragic stories about people who hoard animals, but Lynea's story is far more uplifting. Still, she found herself on "Taboo USA" for having more cats than most animal shelters take in each year.

"I have to admit that this is extreme. I have to admit that it is an obsession," Lynea said. She started taking in cats after a traumatic divorce left her alone in her 4,000 ft. house. She volunteered to rescue a few kittens from a local shelter. By the end of the year she was at 100. Now, she's at ten times that.

Pretty soon, the animals took over the home and Lynea moved into the house next door. But these cats aren't just running around and wrecking the place. Lynea cares for them, and has each and every one of them -- save one dog and one cat -- up for adoption.

Her center is called The Cat House on the Kings -- California’s largest no-cage, no-kill, lifetime cat sanctuary. She has a staff of 23 people who oversee the cats, most who've come from over-full shelters. She even has an on-site ICU to ensure their health. And those cats deemed unadoptable at shelters? Lynea will agree to take them on if the shelter will find homes for five of her adoptable cats in exchange for each one.
