Justin Timberlake & YouTube: JT's NSFW 'Tunnel Vision' Video Allowed Despite Nudity Ban

Justin Timberlake released his new music video to his latest single off of "The 20/20 Experience" this week. The video to "Tunnel Vision" made headlines with the inclusion of full nudity -- showing a naked woman gyrating to the sound of Timberlake's voice.

While YouTube has a fairly comprehensive ban against nudity, Timberlake's "Tunnel Vision" music video has not been banned from the site.

"While our guidelines generally prohibit nudity, we make exceptions when it is presented in an educational, documentary or artistic context, and take care to add appropriate warnings and age-restrictions," a spokesperson for Google told ABC News.

The official guidelines on nudity outline when videos can include naked bodies. "Most nudity is not allowed, particularly if it is in a sexual context," the YouTube rules read. "Generally if a video is intended to be sexually provocative, it is less likely to be acceptable for YouTube. There are exceptions for some educational, documentary, scientific, and artistic content, but only if that is the sole purpose of the video and it is not gratuitously graphic. For example, a documentary on breast cancer would be appropriate, but posting clips out of context from the documentary might not be."

Earlier this year, YouTube banned the uncensored music video to Robin Thicke's single "Blurred Lines." The company chose not to make the artistic exception for "Blurred Lines," which shows copious footage of naked female models.
