Kevin Durant Engaged To Monica Wright, Minnesota Lynx Guard

Kevin Durant Gets Engaged

On the same weekend that NFL star Robert Griffin III tied the knot, NBA star Kevin Durant got engaged to his girlfriend and WNBA guard Monica Wright.

The website MediaTakeOut.com first reported the news on Sunday and posted a photo of Wright, who plays for the Minnesota Lynx, flashing what appears to be her engagement ring. Wright confirmed the engagement to Kent Youngblood of the Star Tribune following Minnesota's win over Phoenix.

The three-time NBA scoring champ met Wright in 2006 at the McDonald's High School All-American Game during his freshman year at Texas, according to the Pioneer Press. They had been rumored to be dating since May, per The Oklahoman.

The No. 2 overall pick of the 2010 WNBA Draft, Wright is averaging nine points and 3.6 rebounds per game in her fourth season with the Lynx.
