Grant Reed, 12-Year-Old Ohio State Fan, Names Brain Tumor 'Michigan,' Then Beats Cancer

12-Year-Old Sports Fan Finds AMAZING Way To Beat Cancer

Grant Reed loves Ohio State and hates University of Michigan. Two years ago, he decided to apply the rivalry to his fight against cancer.

So he named his brain tumor "Michigan."

On Friday, NBC4 reported, Reed officially beat "Michigan."

The 12-year-old Buckeyes fan celebrated his final chemotherapy treatment by ringing a "Chemo Bell" at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

The hospital filmed the moment on Instagram, capturing Reed's family, nurses and doctors cheering him on.

Commenters on the hospital's Facebook page seemed glad to put the rivalry aside.

"This is the cutest!!" wrote one reader. "Even though I am a Michigan fan and this is THE ONLY time I will say this... I'm glad he beat Michigan!! Congratulations!!"

To continue monitoring his condition, Grant will get an MRI every three months.

"We've beaten Michigan for the short term," Reed's father told NBC4, "but like any rival, there's a chance it can come back."

Hopefully, his record remains undefeated.
