We know Bear Grylls can get himself out of any number of sticky situations from his "Man vs. Wild" days, but now he's putting other survivalist wannabes to the test and it's making for some seriously addictive summer TV.
"Get Out Alive With Bear Grylls" has Grylls hosting, mentoring and judging teams who are being put through rigorous physical and emotional survival skill tests each week.
The Huffington Post has an exclusive sneak peek at next week's new episode (Mon., July 15 at 9 p.m. ET on NBC), titled "Living on the Edge," which finds the teams climbing jagged cliffs in New Zealand -- and it isn't easy. Going uphill seems like the most daunting part of a mountain-filled journey, right? Wrong.
"We're going downhill, so we should be able to keep a good pace and not have to take so many water breaks," one contestant says. Famous last words ... Soon after the group takes off downhill, people start falling into holes and shouting to each other to watch their steps.
And since it's a group challenge as much as it is about each team succeeding, it only takes one person to fall to hurt their chances: "One member of any team going down would really hurt the whole group, so it's scary." Cut to someone going down, almost on cue.

THE TEAMS TACKLE NEW DEATH DEFYING CHALLENGES AS THEY JOURNEY THROUGHOUT NEW ZEALAND – The nine remaining teams face their fears in their first challenge after being transported via helicopter into dangerous alpine terrain, where they must climb to the top of a jagged cliff. Meanwhile, tempers flare on one team, and with little food, some contestants are running out of steam. In the end, one team will be sent home and only one duo will remain -– the team that has shown the most heart, courage, initiative and resolve in their quest to “get out alive” will claim a life-changing grand prize of $500,000.
