Waldo Canyon Burn Area Mudslide Sweeps Car Down The Highway (VIDEO)

WATCH: Dramatic Video Of Car Swept Away By Waldo Canyon Mudslide

A Wednesday storm over the Waldo Canyon burn scar near Colorado Springs caused flash flooding, rock and mud slides that closed U.S. Highway 24 and disabled more than twenty vehicles. One of those cars was that of Gazette video editor John Schroyer who shot a first-person account of the mudslide that swept his vehicle down the road while he was still driving it. Schroyer also tweeted some updates and photos about the ordeal yesterday:

7News' Airtracker7 camera showed about two dozen vehicles affected by the mudslide on Hwy 24, Wednesday. CBS4 has more dramatic photos from the mudslide here.

Highway 24 was reopened Wednesday after being closed for hours for clean up. Watch 7News' video below:
