Underwater Music Festival Held In The Florida Keys Feels Like Something Out Of 'The Little Mermaid'

Underwater Music Festivals Are An Actual Thing

Everyone loves an outdoor music festival -- the sun, the fresh air, the tailgating -- but what about one underwater?

This may seem like an utterly impossible thing to accomplish, with it being hard to breathe and hear underwater and all, but fret not. It is possible.

With the help of some snorkels and scuba gear, hundreds will gather to enjoy the sights and sounds for an underwater concert with a truly beautiful backdrop.

The 2013 Lower Keys Music Festival is set to take place on Saturday, July 13th, in Looe Key Reef, an area of the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary, and this year's theme is a Salute to the Rolling Stone Crabs.

Watch the video above for all the nitty gritty details on how these water-loving music fans enjoy the 29-year tradition but know that this isn't reserved for the East Coast only. You can find another underwater music festival in Gig Harbor Bay in Washington state next month.
