Aaron Hicks Throw: Twins Outfielder Catches Vernon Wells Trying To Get Triple (VIDEO)

What A Throw!

Minnesota Twins outfielder Aaron Hicks has shown off his glove and robbed a few homers during his rookie season. On Friday night, he showed off his arm.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, Yankees veteran Vernon Wells lined a pitch off Brian Duensing into the right-center gap. The ball made it all the way to the wall and bounced away from Aaron Hicks. Wells decided to test Hicks' arms and tried to get a triple.

Bad idea. Hicks launched a throw from a few steps in front of the warning track all the way to Twins third baseman Trevor Plouffe. The ball didn't even bounce as Plouffe caught it and quickly tagged Wells for the first out of the inning.

Hicks saved an extra base hit but it wasn't enough as the Yankees went on to win 2-0.
