Dragon Skull Installed On British Beach To Promote 'Game Of Thrones' (PHOTO)

A giant dragon skull has appeared on Charmouth beach in Dorset, England.

Time to rethink natural history? Nah, but it might be a good time to applaud Blinkbox's unique promotion of "Game of Thrones."

The streaming service had three sculptors work more than two months building the beast. The finished product was then installed overnight this week to trumpet Blinkbox's showing of the HBO fantasy's third season.

According to Blinkbox's website, the skull measures 40 feet long, 8 feet wide and 9 feet tall. The photo below shows that one front fang is about the height of one adventurous little girl.

Creativity-Online called the work a "clever stunt," and AdWeek praised it as "perhaps the coolest Game of Thrones-related marketing since the dragon-shadow newspaper ad," which flew across the New York Times print edition in February.

For "Thrones" lovers, Blinkbox says the dragon is based on a scene in which Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) comes upon a dragon skull in the dungeons of King’s Landing.

Make no bones about it, it's a cool way to advertise.
