A mid-July heatwave didn't stop well-dressed revelers from hitting the Ali Forney Center's (AFC) annual "Oasis" event in New York on July 17.

Held at The Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers and sponsored by Barclays Bank, the event -- which serves as the center's annual summer benefit -- was hosted by "The House of Yes" actress Parker Posey and featured a command performance by "RuPaul's Drag Race" alum Detox.

Posey was among those to praise the efforts of the Ali Forney Center, the homeless shelter and advocacy organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) teens and young adults in New York.

“The housing and support the Ali Forney Center gives the LGBTQ youth community is indelible to what the spirit of this city is about: the nurturing and acceptance of all of our differences and a place that allows that difference to blossom,” Posey said.

The 2013 event was the most successful in the AFC's 11-year history, raising more than $200,000 for the organization, officials said in a press release.
