It’s that time of year again. The time when MTV Moon Men get polished up for the network’s annual Video Music Awards. Nominees were announced Wednesday and, not surprisingly, Miguel, Pitbull and Bruno Mars picked up recognition in multiple categories.

Justin Timberlake and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis wound getting the most VMA love, with a total of six nominations each. But Bruno and Miguel do stand a shot in categories like Video of the Year and Best Male Video.

Mars earned a total of four noms (including Best Choreography for his killer “Treasure” video) and will be battling for top honors against celebs like Robin Thicke and Taylor Swift. Miguel came in with two nominations, specifically for “Power Trip” and “Candles In The Sun.”

And they weren’t the only Latinos to receive some MTV love. Demi Lovato was named in the Best Female Video category and Selena Gomez is up for Best Pop Vid. Pitbull was named as a collaborator twice, first for his Christina Aguilera track “Feel This Moment,” then with JLo for “Live It Up.”

Mr. 305 made a point to thank the MTV voters for their support, tweeting,

“Thank you to @mtv and @xtina for the VMA nomination. #feelthismoment #dale.”

Elsewhere, music stars like Drake, Miley Cyrus and Calvin Harris were recognized. And MTV made sure the tech wizards behind each video earned some attention too, highlighting categories like Best Visual Effects and Best Cinematography. They also made a point to promote inspirational artists, with the Best Video With A Social Message category.

Fans can find out which headliners score Moon Man gold when the 2013 Video Music Awards make their debut on August 25. And it’s interesting to note that this year, MTV will be holding their event on the east coast, at Brooklyn’s famed Barclay’s Center.
