SAN DIEGO (AP) — San Diego Mayor Bob Filner's former communications director has filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against the leader of the nation's eighth-largest city.

Irene McCormack came forward publicly Monday, saying that Filner had asked her to work without wearing underwear, demanded kisses and repeatedly dragged her around in a headlock while whispering sexual advances.

McCormack is the first accuser to come forward since former Filner allies recently revealed sexual harassment allegations and demanded he resign.

McCormack also demanded Filner's immediate resignation.

She says she resigned in June at a staff meeting after a deputy chief of staff complained to the mayor that his behavior toward women was wrong and possibly illegal.

Filner has said that he mistreated women who worked for him but denied being guilty of sexual harassment.

McCormack is being represented by well-known attorney Gloria Allred, who has taken on a number of high-profile political cases in recent years.
