A White House senior advisor accused House Republicans of "cruel hypocrisy" for embracing an immigration plan that would grant legal status for undocumented immigrants brought to the U.S. as children but would not do the same for their parents.
Dan Pfeiffer tweeted his criticism Tuesday with a link to a La Opinion editorial that was critical of how the GOP is handling immigration reform:
La Opinion nails the cruel hypocrisy of the GOP immigration plan:allow some kids to stay but deport their parents. http://t.co/VZM3XUgsdI

Brendan Buck, a spokesman for House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio,) quickly attacked Pfeiffer over his comment, saying it was "counter-productive" to immigration reform.
The dust-up came as the House Judiciary Committee prepares to convene a hearing on what to do about undocumented immigrants who were brought to the U.S. as children.
