Flock Of Seagulls Theft: Thief Steals Van, Equipment From 80's Band (VIDEO)

WATCH: Thief Makes Off With Flock Of Seagulls' Van

A thief ran (so far away) after robbing $70,000 worth of equipment from '80s new-wave band Flock of Seagulls.

Frontman Mike Score told the Los Angeles Daily News that around 1:45 a.m. Sunday the band's van was broken into and stolen.

Surveillance footage obtained from KTLA5 shows the band's large white van being driven out of a Comfort Inn hotel, where the band was staying for the night.

Score estimated $70,000 worth of property was stolen, including instruments, studio equipment, band merchandise and $10,000 in high-end stage clothes.

“We think it was somebody from the club that followed us knowing the van was full of equipment,” Score said.

Most upsetting to Score was losing all his hard drive files for his first and nearly-finished solo album.

"We were pretty close to the end. It's 18 months of work just basically thrown into the trash because some people don't have a real life and have to steal from others. People who do this kind of thing will never have a real life; I think karma in the end will come around and take whatever they have got," he said in an interview with the Daily News.

The band used rented equipment to perform at another show the following day and is leaving for London to continue its tour, according to an AP report.
