'Maron' Renewed For Season 2 By IFC

IFC Orders More 'Maron'

IFC has renewed "Maron" for an expanded second season, the network announced Tuesday. The half-hour comedy follows quirky, sardonic comedian Marc Maron's adventures as he produces the popular "WTF With Marc Maron Podcast."

Jennifer Caserta, IFC president and general manager, said in a statement that "Maron" was an excellent fit with the network. “In many ways, Marc is a perfect representation of IFC and our approach to comedy," she continued. "He also seems to be in need of a less dysfunctional family, so we’re happy he’s returning to ours for an expanded second season.”

A 13-episode Season 2 will premiere sometime in 2014. Season 1, which finished its run in June, was only 10 episodes.

"Maron" has been frequently compared to FX's "Louie," and the two comedians are longtime friends, though their relationship has been rocky over the years. Like Louis C.K., Maron is the creator, writer, executive producer and star of his own show.
