Estelle Getty, the diminutive actress who became an all-around icon when she portrayed the wisecracking Sophia Petrillo on "The Golden Girls," would've turned 90 years old today (July 25).
The two-time Emmy Award winner, who died in 2008, was also known as a fierce advocate for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community and active in HIV/AIDS fundraising during her lifetime.
