Posted: Updated:

A popular Pakistani TV host surprised two childless couples by gifting them babies during separate episodes of his Ramadan show.

On July 14, the host of GeoTv's Amaan Ramadan show, Dr. Amir Liaqat Hussain, presented a childless couple with a baby he claimed had been abandoned in the garbage. Hussain repeated the gesture during the July 21 episode of the show.

“This is the beautiful girl who was thrown on [a] pile of garbage by somebody. See how beautiful and innocent she is,” Hussain said while handing over the child, according to The Telegraph.

The grateful parents called the baby a "Ramadan gift."

“These 14 years were full of hardships, people asked to go for second marriage but I remained patient and also asked my wife to be patient,” the new father added.

The babies were presented by Muhammad Ramzan Chhipa, the head of a charity called the Chhipa Welfare Association.

According to Pakistan's The News, volunteers of the organization say they found the little girl in a pile of garbage and brought her to one of its headquarters.

The Independent reports that although controversial, Amaan Ramadan is one of the most popular shows in Pakistan.

TV channels in the country face intense competition over ratings, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.

The Association posted several videos of the shows on its Facebook page. Take a look at the videos below.
