More details of Tamron Hall's new show were revealed at the TCA press tour on Thursday.

Hall will host "Deadline: Crime with Tamron Hall," while continuing to anchor "NewsNation" on MSNBC. The network said Thursday, Deadline reported that her new show will premiere on Investigation Discovery on September 1. The first episode will look at the murder of a mentally ill wife and mother of two, and Robert Chambers, otherwise known as the "Preppie Killer."

The network announced the investigative series — which features Hall delving into crimes with other correspondents, investigators, law enforcement and others — in January.

In discussing the show, Hall has talked about her own experience with violent crime. Her sister Renate was murdered in 2004 in an apparent domestic violence incident. She told the New York Post that the death of her sister broke her father's heart and that he died shortly afterwards.

“I was surprised how emotional it was telling my mom when I got the show,” Hall said in an interview published in June. “She started crying, actually, and said maybe this was God’s way of allowing me to help get my dad the closure that he desired while he was here.”
