We're going to let you in on a little secret: you don't really need a recipe for trail mix. It's pretty much the simplest thing you could ever make in your kitchen. Trail mix is nothing more than a simple combination of nuts, dried fruit and/or chocolate. Yep, it's that easy.

But if you're feeling a little trail mix shy, this recipe will send you confidently on your way to becoming a trail mix-making master. This recipe starts with an assortment of raw nuts and roasts them in the oven -- we recommend this for the freshest taste -- and then mixes them various dried fruits. Feel free to tweak to your liking, and add in anything you're missing. But whatever you do, don't waste your money on another store-bought trail mix ever again.
