2 Trains Collide In Switzerland

Agence France Presse reports that two trains have collided in Switzerland:

Reporter Geoffrey Hulsens captured an image of the crash:

“As our train was approaching the station, another train crashed into it head on,” a witness on the train told 24 Heures. The accident happened right before 7 p.m.

Local media report 44 people injured, including four seriously, so far.

Rescue crews were quickly on site, and railway traffic between the cities of Moudon and Payerne remains interrupted. The cause of the accident has not yet been determined.

Video has emerged that appears to show the trains stacked on one another:

Per the Associated Press, state police spokesman Pierre-Olivier Gaudard told Swiss TV station SRF that one person has yet to be recovered from the wreckage.
