Alexandra Daddario 'Percy Jackson: Sea Of Monsters': Actress Talks Role In Upcoming Sequel On HuffPost Live (VIDEO)

'Percy Jackson' Star Reveals How The Movie Is Different From The Book (VIDEO)

For fans counting down the days until "Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters" -- the second film adaptation of the popular book series -- is released, we're feeling just as impatient. Lucky for us, one of the film's stars stopped by HuffPost Live earlier this week to chat all-things "Percy Jackson," making the wait a little more bearable.

Alexandra Daddario, who stars as Annabeth Chase, the half-blood daughter of the goddess, Athena, alongside Logan Lerman, dished on the upcoming fantasy-adventure sequel, which hits theaters August 7, including her role and how the book compares to the movie. Watch clips from the interview in the videos above and below.

"There's some stuff missing from the book. You take some creative license when you make a movie and things can be a little bit different," she explained.

"The main difference is we're a little bit older than the characters, but I think it works. I think that we are a youthful group of actors and I think that we really understand our characters. I think the essence of the book is in the films."

When it comes to filming, she explained how the cast had to use a green screen even though it's not something traditionally taught in acting classes.

"It's super cool to see how it ends up looking. Even though I know the story and I know what the plot is and I know what the characters do, I don't know what it's all going to look like," Daddario said. "So there are surprises for me when I watch the movie, and that's pretty cool."

Speaking of "cool," Daddario is known for her social media star status, as she likes to maintain a strong online presence and connect with the "Percy Jackson" fan base.

"When I was 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, I had so many people I looked up to and was so inspired by all these different people. It's cool to be in that position," she said. "I feel like it's very important to connect with the people who are passionate about what I'm doing."
