David Letterman Wants To 'Be With' Denzel Washington

David Letterman certainly knew how to make Denzel Washington uncomfortable on "Late Show." The actor was on hand to promote his upcoming movie, "2 Guns," which opens in theaters on Friday. But Letterman had a different proposal in mind.

“I know women want you," Letterman opened. "And I just want to be with you.”

Understandably, this left Washington more than a little confused. Where was the late night host going with this?

“I don’t have, uh, famous friends," Letterman continued. "And I’m looking for a famous friend.” He explained that he just wanted to walk down the street with Denzel Washington next to him.

“‘Oh, look! There’s Letterman. Oh! God! He’s with Denzel!’ That’s what I want," Letterman explained.

It was a hilarious exchange, as Washington went from confused and nervous to just a little uncomfortable. He's sure to be cool as a cucumber, though, alongside Mark Wahlberg, in "2 Guns," opening Friday in theaters nationwide. Meanwhile, David Letterman will have to settle for hanging out with other celebrities every weeknight at 11:35 p.m. ET on CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman."
