Simon Cowell Expecting Baby With Married Socialite Lauren Silverman, Wife Of His Close Friend: REPORT

Simon Cowell is reportedly expecting a baby with Lauren Silverman, a New York City socialite and the wife of one of Cowell's close friends, Us Weekly exclusively reports.

Silverman, who is allegedly 10 weeks along, is still technically married to Ace Silverman, a real estate mogul and friend of the "American Idol" judge. She supposedly plans to leave her estranged husband to be with Cowell.

"Lauren and Andrew have been unhappy in their marriage for some time, and their divorce has been in the works for a while," a source told Us Weekly. "As their marriage deteriorated, she and Simon became close."

Cowell's reps could not be immediately reached for comment by The Huffington Post. However, a rep for the mogul allegedly told the Daily Mail it's a "very sensitive issue" and directed all questions to his lawyer.

Last summer, Cowell and Silverman were spotted vacationing together in St. Barts. Most recently, the 53-year-old was romantically linked with Carmen Electra, but the two broke things off in February.

AOL Music caught up with Cowell last year and asked him about his plans for fatherhood. Prior to that, the "X Factor" judge had said he didn't want to be a dad.

"Well... yes," he said when asked if his feelings had changed. "And no. I do really, really like kids, because I can talk to them and listen to them. The problem has always been how much time you need to devote to bringing up kids and I've always dedicated all my life to work, and at 52, I've probably missed the opportunity."
