Katie Holmes' Fashion Line Is Still A Go, Apparently

Putting on a show at Fashion Week is quite a big production: There are sets to build, seating charts to plan and a very real fear that no one will show up on time. So there were plenty of logistical reasons why Katie Holmes bowed out of a full-blown catwalk last season. But people mostly assumed her clothing line, Holmes & Yang, wasn't doing so well.

In a new interview with Women's Wear Daily, however, the actress manages to slip in that the brand is doing just fine, thank you very much. In fact, that whole intimate, appointment-only presentation tactic was actually successful, and she plans to do the same thing come September. “We’ll probably do something smaller, like in the hotel as we did in February,” Holmes told WWD. “We found that to be very effective. We’ve had great sell-throughs at Barneys. We’re having a good time.”

Good to know. Holmes debuted her fashion line with stylist Jeanne Yang for the Spring 2013 season, but the brand dropped off the official Fashion Week schedule the following season. We have yet to see the line reach the same sort of status as fellow celebrity designers' like Victoria Beckham or the Olsens, but perhaps Holmes just needs another season or two to get her fashion sea legs.

For whatever it's worth, the mother also says she'd like to create her own fragrance, so maybe she has other things on her mind these days.

Are you a fan of Holmes' fashion line? And do you think it's doing well?
