Obama In Los Angeles Tuesday, Aug. 6: Map & List Of Possible Street Closures

MAP: Obamajam Alert! Avoid These Streets Tuesday Afternoon

President Barack Obama is touching down in Los Angeles Tuesday afternoon to film an appearance on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno." After the taping, Obama will stay overnight in Los Angeles (the location will remain a secret for his safety) and then deliver remarks at Camp Pendleton in San Diego before departing from LAX Wednesday afternoon.

Here's Obama's official Southern California itinerary, according to the White House.

Tuesday, Aug. 6
3:25 p.m.: Obama arrives at LAX
4:30 p.m.: Obama tapes an appearance on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” at NBC Studios in Burbank

Wednesday, Aug. 7
Early Afternoon: Obama delivers remarks at Camp Pendleton
1:40 p.m.: Obama departs from LAX

Because Leno's show tapes at NBC Studios in Burbank, folks traveling through the Valley may be most impacted by the Presidential motorcade. To help commuters plan their evening drive home on Tuesday, the Los Angeles Police Department released a list of street intersections that may be impacted by Obama's arrival. We've plotted them on a map and listed the streets below.

Since there are no streets highlighted between LAX and Burbank, we're guessing that Obama will use a helicopter to make his way around most of the city. And for that, Angelenos thank him.

The red streets correspond to Tuesday advisories only, while the orange streets will be impacted for a few hours on both Tuesday and Wednesday. Click on the streets for more information on each possible closure.
