Amanda Righetti And Owain Yeoman Leaving 'The Mentalist' (REPORT)

CBS

Amanda Righetti and Owain Yeoman are leaving "The Mentalist," according to a report on TVLine.

The two original cast members will exit toward the end of Season 6 of "The Mentalist," likely as a result of the unmasking of Red John, TVLine reports.

“I can neither confirm or deny, but this is the most dramatic and game-changing season and anything can happen," "Mentalist" creator Bruno Heller said in a statement.

Righetti and Yeoman have been with the series since it began. Yeoman plays Special Agent Wayne Rigsby, the arson specialist of Teresa Lisbon's (Robin Tunney) Serious Crime Unit. Righetti plays Special Agent Grace Van Pelt.

When Season 6 of "The Mentalist" premieres, Patrick Jane (Simon Baker) and Lisbon are on the trail of Red John, but disagree on how to handle the manhunt. The identity of Red John will be revealed "by the end of this calendar year," CBS said.

"The Mentalist" isn't the only CBS series going through a cast shakeup this season. "NCIS" star Cote de Pablo announced she'll leave the series after wrapping up Ziva's storyline in the beginning of Season 11.

"The Mentalist" Season 6 premieres Sunday, Sept. 29 at 10 p.m. ET on CBS.
