11 Things You Absolutely Shouldn't Do After Winning The Lottery

Wednesday's Powerball jackpot stands at $425 million, making it the fourth largest lottery jackpot ever in U.S. history, CBS News reports. True, your odds of you winning aren’t exactly high (one in 171 million), but someone’s gotta win eventually.

In the event that you do win the lottery, here are a few friendly tips on what not to do:

DON'T throw your ticket in the trash.

DON'T tell your friends you've won, they might steal your ticket.

DON'T tell your spouse... or your kids. To be safe, maybe you just shouldn't tell anyone.

DON'T steal a car. You don't want to spend your winnings bailing yourself out of jail.
