Sofia Vergara said goodbye to the brunette look she sports on the television show “Modern Family” and welcomed golden locks for her latest movie role in director Jon Favreau’s “Chef,” a comedy about a chef who loses his job and opens a food truck.
“Chef,” which was picked up by Open Road Films, will star Jon Favreau himself as the chef along with a supporting cast including Vergara, Dustin Hoffman, Robert Downey Jr., John Leguizamo, Scarlett Johansson and Amy Sedaris, among others.
Open Road CEO Tom Ortenberg is looking forward to seeing the film, stating, “Led by the wildly talented Jon Favreau, this is a very exciting project with a fantastic script and a truly incredible group of actors.”
Upon becoming unemployed, Casper — the main character — decides to follow his dreams and open up his own food truck while also attempting to make amends with his estranged family.
Vergara plays Casper’s ex-wife, whom he wishes to reconnect with throughout the story.
The new blonde has been spending most of her time shooting the film in Los Angeles after production for the film began in July.
She recently celebrated her 41st birthday on set tweeting several pictures throughout the day and excitedly sharing, “Happy Birthday on set! My cake! My cake! My cake!” along with a picture of herself blowing out the candles on a giant red and white cake decorated with little flowers.
She’s been seen on set flashing her signature bright smile and dark red lipstick and waving at the cameras.
The movie — which is not to be confused with another film by the same name starring Bradley Cooper as the chef, is a story about a chef who loses his Michelin status and his mission to regain it. The film is set for an early May 2014 release date.
In “Chef,” you can expect to see Vergara dressed in a dark green shirt and jeans, donning a black server’s apron and ready to take your order from the food truck’s window. But don’t worry, the Colombian actress still keeps it sexy with her newly highlighted hair, glammed up face and classic sense of humor.
With Vergara, Hoffman, Johansson and many other sizzling hot stars in the pot, all that’s left to do is set our timer and wait until this film is done cooking!
