'The Exorcist' On TV?

Hide your pea soup -- "The Exorcist" could be coming to a small screen near you. According to Deadline, production company Morgan Creek is shopping an "Exorcist" drama series from Jeremy Slater, the writer chosen to pen the upcoming "Fantastic Four" film reboot.

Both broadcast and cable networks are reportedly interested in the project, which will be executive produced by Roy Lee, who also produced "The Departed" and "The Ring." Morgan Creek also took out a limited series version of the property from another writer, Sean Durkin, last year with less success.

Former big screen horror franchises have been enjoying success on TV of late, with NBC's "Hannibal" and A&E's "Bates Motel" both earning second season renewals.

"The Exorcist" celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. No further details on the plot of the series are available at this time.
